Site Report: Takashima City New Waste Treatment Facility Land Development Project

This is the site of the land development work for the new waste treatment facility in Takashima City, a project we were awarded at the end of March. The planned construction area covers approximately 4.3 hectares—just under the size of one Tokyo Dome—and the entire site is included within the work zone.

The land was originally developed starting in 1949, when settlers cultivated the area into farmland during the postwar food shortage. As a result, the surface is covered with a thick layer of topsoil, and our work has begun with excavating, collecting, and transporting this topsoil off-site.

Because there is very little shade in the area, we have set up rest stations and temporary tents to ensure proper heat‑stroke prevention while the work progresses. We will continue the construction safely and steadily, staying mindful of the intense summer heat.
